100% Original Vox 1967 Clyde McCoy

This is a great fully functional 100% original 1967 Vox Clyde McCoy.
Unbelievable. All original, even the 9v battery snap.The only non-original thing is that smaller foot the previous owner had changed.

Jimi Hendrix and Clapton, Jimmy Page and The Meters, the Holy Grail.

Sounds exactly like Jimi Hendrix‘s first years, with that very quick quack made famous with songs like “Hush Now” and “Burning Of The Midnight Lamp”. Same model used by Cream and tons of other artists of that era.
Fact is, only the first 66-67 made in Italy Wahs had that sound. The later ones sound different and rarely got that super fast wah effect.

This is a rare Vox Clyde McCoy “script” wah pedal made in Italy in 1967, serial number 5481.
Just like all the early Clyde McCoy wahs for the european market, the circuit has been potted in grey epoxy.
It has the “Halo” inductor with FX3229 Mullard/Ferrox cube. You can glimpse the “Ducati Bipolare” capacitor, the metal caps of the transistors (very probably BC109B).
The original ICAR potentiometer still sounds great with no scratches, it measures about 186 kohms.

This thing sounds like fire with those early super fast quack sounds. Or you can use it slow. Best of both worlds.
