Here is an amazing player grade first year thick body 1954 Gibson Les Paul Junior in Sunburst. It is safe to say the guitar has seen its share of stages throughout the years given the wear it shows as cosmetically the guitar is in fair shape especially for being 69 years old but shows heavy checking, dings, dents, scrapes, finish wear etc. It appears the neck was cracked at the heel at some point leading to the neck being reset and the bridge post holes were both repaired and touched up but this all appears to have been professionally done quite some time ago and the guitar is completely stable as is. The back one the neck seems to have had a capo in every single position judging by the heavy wear on the back of the neck which can be felt somewhat when playing the guitar. The tuners, pickup, pickup cover, bridge studs, pickguard, jack plate, strap buttons, nut and frets all appears to be original. The pots and harness appear to date to 1959 including a Bumble Bee cap. The knobs are repros and the bridge is a Monotone compensated bridge. This thick body ’54 Junior weighs in at a shocking 6 lbs 4.3 oz which helps this one be extremely resonant and snappy. The bridge pickup reads a very nice 7.60K and the guitar has a wonderful chunky C neck profile with a 1st fret depth of .92″ and a 12th fret depth of .99″. It is a joy to play as it recently received a good set up but like any other instrument might need a final adjustment to your preference when received. It comes as shown with a more recent Gibson Custom hard case but no additional items are included.
