A true classic for a good reason, the 1980s Yamaha “BB“ series and especially higher end models such as the ”BB3000A” have a cult following like few others. This is a very good representation of the quality Yamaha is known to be capable of in the bass community.
The active electronics are not currently functioning, and will need to be repaired or replaced. It could be an easy fix, since it was properly working only months ago. Other than that, this bass is in excellent playing condition with very few minor blemishes. The white finish has aged beautifully and has minimal nicks, chips, scratches and scuffs. All are pictured and hard to notice in person. This particular finish is hard to find and in my opinion much more attractive than other options.
The neck is nice and straight with plenty of room for adjustment and the frets have have lots of life left. The gold hardware has some tarnishing, please see pictures.
