2015 Epiphone Limited Edition ES-295 Premium Satin Wine Red Lacquer Near-Mint w/ Gibson P-90s, Case

Up for sale, a 2015 Epiphone Limited Edition ES-295 Premium in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This uncommon, discontinued Epiphone was crafted in Korea; it’s an upscale iteration of the iconic Gibson ES-295, first introduced in 1952 as a hollowbody companion to the Goldtop Les Paul and later enjoying significant popularity due to its appearances in the hands of Elvis’ guitarist Scotty Moore. This modern take sports the same maple hollowbody construction as the original, with premium features including a Bigsby B70 vibrato, Epiphone Deluxe tuning machines with push-in bushings, a SlimTaper D neck profile, Gibson USA dogear P-90 pickups, an ornate pickguard, and an “aged-style” (satin) Wine Red nitro lacquer finish accented by gold hardware.

A hard maple neck and rosewood fretboard round out the tonewood complement, and the hollowbody construction yields an acoustic quality that’s both full-sounding and immediate. The bridge pickup is woody and authoritative, with a midrange growl and treble snap, while the neck pickup is smooth and round with bouncy, sweet trebles. This ES-295 Premium weighs 6lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 roundwound strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The hard maple neck has a SlimTaper D-shaped profile, a very slender carve with prominent shoulders and a fast feel, measuring .760” deep at the 1st fret and .845” at the 9th. The bound rosewood fretboard is a notably dark, tight-grained cut with split parallelogram pearloid inlay, and the medium jumbo fretwire is pristine. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the nut measures 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the Epiphone Deluxe double-line tuning machines function smoothly with lightly greened keystone buttons and an 18:1 gear ratio. The back of the headstock retains the factory stickers, including the “Made in Korea” sticker, underscoring how little usage this guitar has seen since it was new.

The electronics function as intended, with the pickups governed by a three-way selector switch and independent pairs of Volume and Tone controls. The gold-plated hardware all shines like new, including the Nashville-style bridge with pinned rosewood base and the Bigsby B70 vibrato, which bounces quickly back to pitch with great spring tension. Plastics comprise the quartet of gold speed knobs, amber switch tip, and the cream plexi pickguard, which features the same ornate floral design as the original ‘50s version. The orange label with serial and model info is visible through the bass-side F-hole.

The “aged-style” satin Wine Red nitro lacquer finish is framed by multi-ply white binding, and the only cosmetic wear is one small nick on the back headstock edge and a lightly buffed area central to the back. The satin finish on the neck profile is immaculate.
