- Vintage 70s Arp Avatar, basically same as a late 70s odyssey in module format, originally intended to be controlled by a guitar pickup, it has the same CV jacks as an odyssey so is more commonly used and controlled by a midi to cv keyboard controller or as a voice expander to use with an odyssey or other cv synth setup. We don’t have the guitar pickup. Fatter richer tone than any modern cheap import clones (korg, behr, etc). The pure vintage 70s made in usa full size discrete transistor oscillators and filters cannot be matched by cheap miniature surface mount parts of the clones, the real thing sounds big alive and organic, because it is. Has the odyssey 4075 filter which was their final and best version. Excellent condition all around cosmetically and operationally, fully cleaned inside and out, calibrated and serviced where needed by a professional synth tech, including replacement of some sliders and tantalum capacitors with new versions which is standard vintage arp service protocol. The real wood side panels were also refinished. All pictures are of the actual unit for sale.
- You play and control it via 2 of the rear cv jacks (cv in & gate in) from a MIDI to CV converter’s cv out & gate out, from a controller keyboard with midi to cv built in, such as an arturia keystep which are only about $100 and also allows use of any midi keyboard or software to play/control the avatar via the midi to cv converter features. Another midi to cv box I’ve used with it is the kenton pro solo, but any midi to cv should work as it is a simple device. You can also use it as a expander with an odyssey or 2600 or other cv synth to increase your oscillator count. Ships in USA 48 states only via UPS no po boxes. Will be double boxed in oversized boxes being much larger and heavier than an odyssey or clone in it’s all metal weighty heavy duty chassis case
