A rare made in USA Mach IV! We only made about 7 Mach IV’s in the USA factory that lasted from about 2015-2018. Only 4 have ever been completed. This one was made from the parts that have been hanging around my shop. The relic was unintentional. There was a reaction with the original UV finish originally applied and the nitro that was added later. Some sections were soft and were scraped off with a blade. The results looked so good that I decided to make it a relic. The rest of the finish is strong and cured. There are very few coats of nitrocellulose so no sanding or buffing was done. Just simple, “thin skin” nitrocellulose. There is a slight orange peel to the gloss but it seems to just add to the classic look rather then detract.
The body is swamp ash, the neck is maple on rosewood and the rod is 2 way adjustable. The guard is made of a beautiful plastic I found made in Italy. Action is beautiful and tone is sweet! The bridge pickup is a dual single wired as a humbucker in series and there is a push/pull in the tone to split back to a single coil, which hum-cancels with the bridge.
Scale is 24.75”. Frets are jumbo, nut is 43mm. Tuners are Grover. Guitar weights 9.3lbs. Comes with a DiPinto Custom Case.
