2020 Ludwig Legacy Mahogany tom shells in high gloss Sable Black lacquer. Drums are in absolute Mint Condition, 13×9 and 16×16. They are part of a large shell bank I bought early last year from a former Ludwig employee who recently moved to my area. I bought the whole lot from him, but I’ve found that I just don’t use or need the 13″ and 16″ toms. Ultra clean, they’ve never been to a gig and have certainly been pampered. He had them custom made to order; as such, there are no internal labels/serial numbers. Floor tom is signed by Ludwig’s master drum builder Lloyd Benton, who is considered “The Man” in regards to Legacy shell construction (see last picture). He oversees construction of all Legacy drums before they leave the Monroe plant.
These Legacy Mahogany toms tune up superbly. No flaws of any kind. Craftsmanship is first rate: the bearing edges are smooth as a baby’s bottom. Gorgeous piano-like gloss finish. This would be a great addition to anyone seeking to complete either a vintage or modern build out. They can be paired with any bass drum and will blend in beautifully, bringing that low end warmth that vintage build Ludwig toms possess.
I’m also including a pair of the finest drum bags Ludwig ever made: the Atlas Pro bags, sizes 13×9 and 16×16. With 1″ padding on all sides, 2mm PVC outer wall cores, faux-wool lining, and high-density woven fiber exteriors, these semi-rigid bags are extremely protective. Rubber handles and embroidered shoulder straps make them easy to transport. Bags are as mint as the drums, again having never left the house.
(NOTE: Even though the embroidery on the smaller bag says 12″, it’s actually a 13″, and the tom fits easily with room to spare, as pictured.)

- 16×16 Floor Tom w/ Large Classic lugs, Classic Brackets and 9.5mm legs with Atlas Pro bag
