This is an Edwards T-396A Tenor Trombone – the model designed and played by Joseph Alessi. Edwards made this horn for me in 2014. I was getting back into playing and “bought the best”. I played for about a year and moved back to piano (my main instrument). The instrument plays and sounds beautiful, as you would expect. The rotor works flawlessly. The horn has been used less than 200 hours, so it has loads of life left in it, and it needs to go where it will be played as it deserves. There are no dents in the slide and it works perfectly.
There are some small cosmetic issues:
– There is a very small dent in the tubing on the bottom side of the extension. It is marked in one of the photos. It is there if you know where to look for it, and I suspect could be removed by a tech. It does not affect the tone.
– There is finish corrosion where my hand wrapped around the grip. Obviously, this does not affect playability
– There is minor finish corrosion around the drain valve. It doesn’t affect playability.
Overall, it’s one of the best professional trombones made and you can pick it up for a very nice discount off the new price. It will ship in the Edwards hardshell case. Mouthpiece not included.
Apparently I was filming on the green-screen the day I shot these pictures. Let me know if there’s something you want to see.
