Up for sale is my 2020 Stingray Special. If you are looking at this listing, then I am sure you know your Stingrays and know exactly what she is, so I won’t even try to list all the specs and details. That said, the black on black with ebony fretboard and roasted maple headstock and neck, is absolutely beautiful. The Stingray Special hardware and tuners, with the select woods, make the bass lighter (around 8.5 lbs), along with the updated humbucker, truly make this a special Stingray, while keeping with everything we all love about these basses. As far as playability and function, she is perfect. I won’t try to say she is perfect cosmetically, nor should she be, because she has been played and enjoyed and shows that light wear from normal use over the years. So, there are the expected light finish scratches and scuffs, and a couple dings. There is a small dent in the back of the neck, which I never feel while playing, and a small chip off the end of the headstock, that you don’t really notice when looking at the bass, unless you’re really looking her over, and that you can’t see when looking at the bass from the front. Nothing effects it’s playability in any way, and honestly, I think the photos make it look worse than it is, but I wanted to be as honest and clear as I possibly could about the condition. She’s beautiful, and she absolutely growls. This is just one awesome bass, plain and simple. I just need to scale back, so it’s time to give her a new home and continue her journey.
