Absolutely beautiful Kiesel AC 50 fretless bass.
It has a stunning, burled poplar top with matching headstock. Main hollowed body is mahogany, with a five piece laminated mahogany neck with two maple stripes. The fingerboard is a nicely figured Royal Ebony.
The control knobs are made from tamarind wood. Hardware is black chrome plated to match the black logo on the headstock. Top has a clear satin mat finish as does the back of the body, but I had them do a tongue-oil finish on the back of the neck as I like the way that feels.
You’ll notice there is no sound hole on the space, because all the tone comes from the LR bags Piezo transducer underneath the wooden bridge.
This bass has never been gigged, although other AC 50 F’s I’ve had in the past record beautifully and set very nicely in the mix, especially if you’re trying to duplicate an upright bass.
I honestly really don’t want to sell this as it sounds in plays so nicely, but I did just pick up a Rob Allen Deep Five fretless, so I’m going to have to let this go to help fund that purchase.
